This comprehensive workshop lecture is designed for workplace environments. The course teaches the psychophysiological aspects individuals experience during critical incidents and emotional intensity. The workshop covers the challenges individuals face attempting to address violent incidents, personal conflicts or abnormal behavior within the workplace environment. Lieutenant Kevin Dillon (Ret) introduces a program that explorers an individual’s cognitive and physical capabilities during violent outbreaks and effective response strategies.

Participants will learn:

  • Introduction of principles of personal protection.
  • Risk management practices for daily protection.
  • Understanding body language and threat identification.
  • Verbal cues – “What’s really being said.”
  • Communications skills during emotional intensity.
  • Understand the value of environmental awareness.
  • Physical and physiological changes during critical incidents.
  • Autonomic changes that effect behavior and performance.
  • Establish basic pre-planned response systems.
  • Re-direction of thought process.
  • Strategies for fear management under stress.
  • Response strategies to physical attacks.
  • Planning escape routes.
