Triple Instructor Certification – Handcuffing, OC Spray & Police Baton
June 1 – 5, 2026
It was both an honor and a pleasure to present our Triple Instructor Certification Program—Handcuffing, OC Spray, and Police Baton—at the Oakland Police Academy – MI June 1–5, 2026. The training brought together officers from multiple law enforcement agencies throughout the region, creating an outstanding environment for professional development, collaboration, and instructor-level learning.
Students particularly valued the integration of human performance principles, decision-making under stress, adult learning concepts, and practical instructional methodologies. The combination of classroom discussion, real-world application, and hands-on skill development was repeatedly identified as a significant strength of the program.
The course evaluations reflected overwhelming satisfaction with both the content and delivery of the training:
100% of attending students rated the prioritization and progression of skills as Outstanding.
100% of attending students rated the course presentation as Outstanding.
100% of attending students rated communication and instructional delivery at the highest level of Outstanding.

This one-of-a-kind intensive 5-day program certifies instructors in three critical disciplines: Handcuffing, Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) Spray, and the Expandable Baton. Specifically designed for law enforcement, private security and corrections professionals, the course emphasizes the integration and transitional skills of multiple less-lethal control options, giving agencies a unified, adaptable approach to subject control.
Participants will:
Gain instructor-level proficiency in each tool with a focus on legal, tactical, and safe applications.
Learn how to seamlessly transition between handcuffing, OC spray, and baton techniques in real-world encounters.
Develop teaching methods to deliver effective, standardized training within their own agencies.|
Enhance adaptive decision-making skills that improve officer performance and reduce risk.
By equipping agencies with instructors certified in all three disciplines, this program maximizes training investments, strengthens consistency across force options, and promotes both officer and subject safety.
