How this training will improve your present assignment
I recently took over managing our use of force program. This content will allow me to structure what we are doing.
Identify the need to have a system in place for tracking and trending use of force. Need to have the information available for training staff.
Provided a framework to do more effective tracking and evaluation in order to improve operations in training.
Will hopefully start to track and trend use of force incidents and de-escalation tactics. Will improve officer safety and DT re- certification.
This will be able to not only assess use of force incidents but better trained officers.
As a user force instructor I can pass along this information to my partners and improve my own contact on the street and with my reports.
Changes to the use of force form improvements to overall report writing and review of the incidents.
In this two day program the training will introduce techniques and concepts of how to track, trend and investigate use of force incidents. Topics will cover training curriculum development, use of force reporting and review to investigations. This overview concentrates on multiple issues ranging from daily officer citizen complaints to investigative issues involving physical to deadly force encounters. Instruction uses lecture and case review. This is essential training for anyone who reviews, conducts training, or investigates police use of force incidents.
