The L.O.C.K.U.P.® Police Ground Control Edged Weapon Instructor Course is the only of it’s kind. An in-depth presentation of police ground control tactics integrated with edged weapon defense. The course will provide a solid foundation of law enforcement and corrections-grounded control engagements. This is not sport-orientated grappling! These are tactics and techniques designed for law enforcement / correctional engagements wearing full equipment. L.O.C.K.U.P. ® orientation provides the base of the system with the course specifically focusing on grounded and edged weapon engagements. The L.O.C.K.U.P. ® System has been awarded the FBI National Academy Associates 2022 Science and Innovation Award. L.O.C.K.U.P.® “differentiated itself from other defensive tactics across the country. L.O.C.K.U.P.® is not a technique-based training system but the emphasis is on the actual collection of data on the use of force incidents, and detailed reporting to determine the effectiveness and needs assessments of the officers on the street.”

Instructors
Ofc. Percy Smith – 18-year law enforcement officer in RI. BJJ Black Belt, All-American College Wrestler, won several titles in MMA and grappling competitions. Master L.O.C.K.U.P.® Instructor, 18 years of training in law enforcement. Percy also holds the rank of black belt in Kenpo and Jiu-Jitsu.

Lt. Bryan Palagi is a 10-year law enforcement professional officer in RI. Use of force instructor with extensive training developing curriculum for the State of RI with extensive experience in Judo, Kickboxing, Master LOCKUP Instructor, and BJJ black belt. Both instructors have been hand-picked by Lt. Kevin F. Dillon (ret)
