Congratulations to the graduates of the LOCKUP Ground Control and Edged Weapon Instructor Course!
It was an honor and a pleasure to present our Instructor-Level Training on Ground Control and Edged Weapons at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls, RI, from January 27-31, 2025. Master LOCKUP Instructors and BJJ Black Belts Bryan Palagi and Percy Smith share their extensive knowledge with a new team of instructors!
The training was extremely well received, with all attending officers demonstrating exceptional enthusiasm, dedication, and professionalism throughout the course. Their active participation greatly contributed to the success of the program.

Instructors
Ofc. Percy Smith – 18 year law enforcement officer in RI. BJJ Black Belt, won several titles in MMA and grappling competitions. Master L.O.C.K.U.P.® Instructor, 18 years of training law enforcement. Percy also holds the rank of black belt in Kenpo and Jiu-Jitsu.
Lt. Bryan Palagi is 10 year law enforcement professional in officer in RI. Use of force instructor with extensive training developing curriculum for the State of RI with extensive experience in Judo, Kickboxing, Master LOCKUP Instructor and BJJ black belt.
