L.E.A.D.S. + T – Law Enforcement Active Diffusion Strategies and Tactics
March 27, 2015
0800 – 1600

“This course is designed to educate officers before the fight with effective communication skills and de-escalation strategies for roadside engagements. Often, good tactical responses by itself are good de-escalation responses. However, an officer must also have plan B when escalation is ineffective.”
Lt. Kevin Dillon (ret)

This is a classroom based combat-confrontation avoidance course.  Based upon the L.O.C.K.U.P.® system, it teaches within a classroom setting how to recognize aggression and not stimulate aggression.  Students learn Active Diffusion Strategies that can avoid escalating or resolve interactions by employing tactical de-escalation methods. Officers are instructed in officer safety tactical options when de-escalation does not work and how to deploy and coordinate successful strategies. Instruction uses lectures and demonstrations to facilitate learning.
